Around 1995 I made the oil painting featured in this collection. I love the dark silhouettes that houses, trees and TV aerials create against the beautiful colours of sunset skies. Nearly 30 years later I decided to try to recreate the effect, but with photography. 

Colours have been 'pulled out' of the images and enhanced to recreate my original oil paintings bold palette and silhouetted contrasts.

It is difficult to create a lot of these photos as I am reliant on the sky displaying a good amount of colour, clouds are needed to give the sky a canvas for those colours, and I have to be in a location that has good foreground components to create silhouettes. As such I expect this project and collection to build slowly over time, as most elements will be out of my control.
